GirlAlive, an American expat in Britain is writing up an amusing and informative series on British packaged foods. She helpfully includes the ingredients. I have learned that that”bubble and squeak” involves ordinary vegetables such as potato, cabbage, and brussel sprouts. Mushy peas aren’t nearly as offputting as they sound (hint: it’s a different kind of pea than the kind we get in the states.) She also includes some personal favorites that I already know and love, such as flapjacks, a delicious and substantial oat cake. Spotted Dick, while it may be delicious, continues to crack up even this intrepid taster.

The Ghoul is apparently one step closer to running for president. No doubt spurred on by his lionization at a nation hero. Unfortunately, the stupidity of the this country is boundless. Real New Yorker’s understand this man’s petty and mean nature and September 11th as the deus ex machina that raised him out of the abyss. I hope they nail his ass to the wall if he every runs.
