If you have an old Hitachi Projection TV, there’s a chance that the Position of the image on screen isn’t exactly centered. Assuming there is nothing wrong with the hardware, there is a way to adjust this. Again, this secret knowledge isn’t published except in repair manuals for authorized technicians. Yet, it’s something that you would expect to be able to adjust on any computer monitor or older television.
Here’s how to adjust the position on screen. Note: you will need a working remote to do this.
First of all, you will need to put your TV in service mode. This is easy enough:
- Turn on the set
- Press and hold the convergence button on the while pressing INPUT on the remote
- The TV is now ready to adjust. Press the FREEZE button (PIP section) to activate the raster position mode.
- You will see two additional horizontal lines appear on the top and bottom of the screen, this confirms that you are in the correct mode.
- Use the cursor to adjust the position of the grid onscreen.
While in this mode, you will be able to switch between the colors to adjust. Do green first, then add an additional color (0 for Red, INPUT for Blue.) To remove the color and return to just the green overlay, push MENU.
When you are done, you will need to save your changes. Press PIP
